The 2nd Annual Independence Roots Music Fest celebrates Midwestern roots music like bluegrass, country, folk, and blues. The festival features a full afternoon and evening of live performances across multiple stages, food, drinks, and more. The music fest takes place Saturday, August 8th from Noon - 9pm on the beautiful lawn of the Bingham-Waggoner Estate, 313 W. Pacific Ave, Independence, MO 64050. Here’s the 2026 lineup: 🎶 Beth and Brandon 🎶 Hudspeth and Taylor 🎶 Primrose Junction 🎶 Kian Byrne 🎶 Cowtown Cajuns 🎶 Copper Threading 🎶 Gullywasher 🎶 MAW 🎶 Rural Grit All-Stars Bring a lawn chair or blanket or something to sit on. Kids 12 and under are free. Free parking. Food trucks - Chef Tim's & Mama Jenn's Freshly Pressed. Food - Burgers, hot dogs, chips, water and soda by the Bingham-Waggoner Estate. Drinks - Fringe Beerworks and the Sentinel Room. Snacks - PJ's Snacks. This one day musical festival is a collaboration with the Bingham-Waggoner Estate and Independence Square Association (ISA) with proceeds benefiting both nonprofit organizations. Led by Independence residents and highly-respected musicians in the Kansas City and Independence music scenes Kris Bruders and Mark Hamblin, Independence Roots Music Fest was created to remember and preserve the rich musical heritage of the city.
